On the 1st of April 2021 Washinkai España took part at the annual international multi-style championship in Madrid. After a 4 hour and 30 minute drive, at 18:20 Alex Sanchez Brown belt 3rd Kyu, walked out onto the tatami to represent Washinkai España for the second year running, shortly followed by Sensei Geovanny Sánchez Salazar
It’s a shame that we can’t train in our dojo during the COVID-19 lockdown, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t train. On Tuesdays & Thursdays Sensei Geovanny will be teaching online from 5 until 6pm. It has been a busy couple of weeks for the Club Washinkai España. Last Saturday 23rd of March there was a demonstration and workshop of karate at the opening of the new Lady Elizabeth Secondary School Campus on the Cumbre del Sol. Over 2000 attended and took part in the celebrations of ONE SCHOOL ONE/SITE.
On Friday the 1st of March, the Washinkai España Karate Club set off for the first time to the Madrid Wado-Ryu National Championship. The transportation was paid for by The Town Hall of Jávea as the club was representing the whole of the Valencia Province. The team from Xàbia was made up of 14 competitors:

A new 100msq tatami has been bought for the Washinkai Karate School in Benitachell with a subsidy of 2,850 Euros from Alicante’s Provincial Delegation. The Washinkai Dojo Kun is taken from the 20 Precepts of Master Gichin Funakoshi, but those familiar with the Shotokan version may notice it is not identical. However, the principals remain the same.
