On Friday the 1st of March, the Washinkai España Karate Club set off for the first time to the Madrid Wado-Ryu National Championship. The transportation was paid for by The Town Hall of Jávea as the club was representing the whole of the Valencia Province. The team from Xàbia was made up of 14 competitors:

A new 100msq tatami has been bought for the Washinkai Karate School in Benitachell with a subsidy of 2,850 Euros from Alicante’s Provincial Delegation. On the Saturday 1st of September we hosted the end of Summer class celebration behind Montgo on the beach. There was a short training session including some techniques in the sea. Afterwards there was a pinic with friends and family. The club provided the drinks. It was a fitting end to a long hot summer.
The Washinkai Dojo Kun is taken from the 20 Precepts of Master Gichin Funakoshi, but those familiar with the Shotokan version may notice it is not identical. However, the principals remain the same. On the day Tuesday 19th of June from 18:30-20:30 we will be holding the end of course presentation at the Palau polideportivo in the Port in Javea.
